This is more of a PSA post than anything, but this is most definitely FAST FASHION, even if it’s not to the extent as certain other brands that are even more gross about it. My additional PSA is that getting items from them directly will likely lead to regret for the wallet.
For example, I picked up some pairs of their 4-Pocket Jogger Pants (pictured on left above) at 4,400 jpy which was marked as a big one-day sale from their regular 8,000 jpy price. But truth be told when I finally got them in, their quality is hardly any better than a pair of AliExpress cargos (pictured on right) that arrived on literally the same day (by coincidence). This is absolutely mostly on me since if I had been able to test these out in person first or had been more familiar with the materials back then to judge better from the pictures, I would never pay that price for them.
As with a lot of fast fashion, their items are flooded all over thrift listings. Definitely advised to grab some essentials cheaper that way if you must.
Since it’s getting colder and colder with every year here despite being known as an area with “moderate” climate, I’m making more and more use of thermal clothes as each year comes.
They DO make some things that will work quite well for what they are, for example all the thermal clothing (inside fleece) I’ve gotten from them have been pretty solid.
Some of my personal (better) thrifts:
Fleece inner super long x loose sweat pants for 2,750. It has intentionally long bottom end to bunch up to make that look. I didn’t intend to get them for cosplay, but they may end up being a better pair than the other pair I intended for the look LOL.
I picked up some of their various hoodies in near mint condition, including this one for 1,320. With the cold weather, I wear through these frequently! The suspender skinny pants here were also 1,320, and because of the stretch I can ACTUALLY wear them!
Kimono sleeves for 2,310, 6-pocket pants for 2,464. I picked these off from the men’s side, but I’ll wear them when I want to. xD
A VERY soft plush zip outer for 4,180. It’s easily my warmest top with really good pockets, an extra bit of warmth over my usual hoodies. Easily the best NieR piece I’ve gotten that cost me over 4k, as just about all the other 4k+ pieces have not been worth it for me thus far ^^; My general advice is also to not pay over 4k for any NieR piece unless it’s actually from their super “luxurious” line, as I believe this was (original cost 13,500 currently discounted to 12,150). Uhhh, it took me this long to find out I can remove the tail piece in the back which I will be doing LOL. Otherwise it risks um… getting dipped when I go to the bathroom.
Wide Pants with fleece inner at 1,980. PERFECT on cold days. The extra nice part for me is that the outer material is silky and doesn’t catch cat hair easily–but I have to be extra careful as my cats’ claws really pull it apart if they start trying to bread me. Might potentially pick up more of this type of pants in the future as they’re VERY warm, easy to wear, have good pockets… ALL the good things. Near perfection. They get snatched up quickly when they’re listed up, as they should be.
