While I appreciate a lot of content that a certain petite YTer has been producing, I don’t agree AT ALL with their advice about how platforms are bad for short people. Maybe if you want to stick with the typical femme look, in which case platforms aren’t really part of the typical femme style in the first place? But that ain’t me. This is alternative for a reason.
I only came to learn about this brand as just YOSUKE when I was starting out, and didn’t find out until much later that the full title is YOSUKE USA… which makes no sense because they have essentially zero USA presence, LOL.
At some point, I’ll put up a proper “collection” photo of the pairs I have, but for now, I’ll note these are the main three boot/shoe pairs:
-Creeper/platform hybrid? What do I call these? THEY’RE MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE BTW. Bought these full price from an official Rakuten retailer for YOSUKEs, at 10,780. Still frequently makes the top-selling on their site, well deserved! I wouldn’t mind getting the black/white combo version some day, if I can get over my fear of getting the white section dirty… we’ll see.
-My first actual pair, high-cut platforms I picked up from Deorart’s site, as it was their literal last pair and it happened to be my size. Full price at 8,690.
-Somewhat tacky tiger patch high-cut platforms I really wanted and spent 8k for a barely-used pair, in retrospect I would’ve been fine with the slip-ons I’d gotten later, but I’ll still wear these as they’re a good fit, and all shoes will wear eventually!
In addition, I have:
-Slip-ons with the same tiger patch above that I got for only 2.7k.
-Tassel loafers I got for 3k.
Waiting on:
-30th Anniversary platform sandal boots I got second-hand but never worn for 7,500. I’m not normally into the “snake-skin” look it has, but the purple highlights inside just sank me and I just… need to know what it’s like to have platform sandal boots lol. Also, it originally retailed at 14,000, and it has the special 30th logo embroided onto it, so I was in for the deal and the beauty of it. ^^;
-Ozz Croce collab boots I snagged for 5,500. They originally retailed at 21,000, but this pair had been worn about 10-ish times, so this markdown has been expected (but condition still looks AMAZING from the pics at least). They’re L size though which from what I’m reading is a full size above what I normally wear, so I’m likely going to be needing to add all those inner soles, heel cushions and whatnot I’ve been reading up on to get the comfort I need. I’ve only seen these just barely even listed once ever before, so this is definitely an EXTREMELY RARE FIND and will be well worth doing the extra hoops to style in.
