I guess I never actually made a resolutions post because I was too busy hustling for work. I have a place for now, but it’s a 1-yr stint unless some good news pops up.
But ANYWAY:
2026 resolutions
1. Natural fibers only (this doesn’t apply to literal threads which generally have to be polyester in order to be durable)
2. Prioritize POCKETS
3. Stay off prints (unless I’m supporting a very specific indie or something)
4. Stay off OTT
5. Get sizings right
6. Do more punk/gothic
7. Refine my personal silhouette
These are mostly changed from my private list of 2025, and I think I did somewhat well on these resolutions overall. I’ve only somewhat failed on the natural fibers/prints section, as I’ve allowed myself a couple gobelin exceptions that aren’t fully natural fibers. BUT they’re either WireHead so that’s easy exception, or they do have pockets like the Shimamura collab. In terms of sizing, see final section sigh;;
Staying off OTT has worked out somewhat well too, as I’m currently re-homing a lot of that. I just don’t want to compromise on the pricing for them, so some sales take pretty long.
The last part is the hardest because there’s so much subjectivity to it, but I DEFINITELY have a much better idea of where I’m going overall with my silhouette, and I’m quite liking the continued growth and evolution.
This list is fine to fully continue into 2026, since I actually have so much stuff happening in real life that I’ve had less time to focus on fashion stuff anyway, for better or worse. Nothing new, nothing erased. Just keep going with it. I’ll check in on this again once things have settled…….
But let’s see what else has changed since then.
General brand list I’m interested in moving into 2026:
-Cornet, ETC/Shirley Temple… BTSSB, MAM, Meta, AP oldschool, WireHead, Physical Drop is still relevant. But since the proxies, namely Buyee and Zenmarket are increasing their base fee in April, I’m trying to wean off purchases again. I’ve really peaked…!!
But eh, at least Tenso’s still the same, for now.
-Still keeping my eye out on various indies I’ve loved like Moonrise Theater. I think I only did 1 or 2 taobao shipments in 2025 as well (and the 2nd one didn’t even ship until recent months of 2026).
-But yeah… the only big change in this list is the addition of a couple brands… Cornet at the top there ough. I picked up SO many Cornet pieces in 2025. The only specific niches I think I’d really dish out big buck for is the full front button velveteen stuff, or just gorgeous velveteen stuff in general, but they haven’t been showing up… which is fine. Helps me save more?? ;;; Ough. I also missed out on a lot of great opportunities to get it… I’ll be the one with the opp some day, surely. Shirley. And speaking of Shirley, ETC/Shirley is the other addition. Ended up with a lot of great hits from them, WITH POCKETS. Really glad with what I’ve been able to get, and maybe I’ll do a special highlight on them sometime.
In 2024, I dibbed in Jane Marple, Pink House, HEIHEI apparently. I’ve weaned off HEIHEI for their lack of natural fibers, but in place I’ve picked up more MILK when they do natural fibers instead, lol.
Things I need to watch out for (for my wallet):
-On top of old BTSSB/MAM/Meta… Cornet is definitely on this list now. Thankfully, in terms of BTSSB and Meta themselves, I’ve mostly peaked with them. Mostly. There are a specific things I really want to find still, they’re on my wishlist.
-Neant Glass releases were pretty slow for 2025 aside from the huge splurge on Le Vitrail, so that’s all fine and peachy. Quiet for 2026 thus far too, since I can’t make it out to RL events outside my comm, let alone within my comm lol.
-Need to continue weaning down proxy stuff (I never weaned off, let’s be real ough). I blame awesome 10-12% Buyee coupons to help offset tariffs and the absolutely still amazing yen rate though. It’s so close to 160jpy to 1USD. I suspect intervention before it gets to that steadily, but intervention hasn’t been working as we see it creep up like this time and time again lol. Japan man.
There are a few other brands I’ve considered but will not/will no longer commit towards, but I’m keeping them private because I do still highly appreciate their offerings, they are simply not for me personally.
In a more general sense, here are some things I’ve learned about myself that I need to keep more conscious about when it comes to potential impulse purchases:
-I don’t care for bows. Bows are heavily prevalent in most modern designs, but I just don’t care for them. They’re best when they’re removable, so I just keep them off, and many that are sewn on, I have a very specific tolerance point for when I’ll be okay with them.
-I hate satin. Satin bows are the abomination of my style, the bane of my existence. I tolerate it for certain modern pieces (especially from BTSSB like the classic Elizabeth series), but I think moving forward, I’m going to be purging it like I’m purging my poly. It can be really hard to avoid though, so I’ve had to make a lot of exceptions. Still…

Heavily considering searing off all the bows on the Rose & Neverland OPs I have, because I love them and they have POCKETS… but I have not wanted to coord with them because of the bows. One day, I’ll commit. I have a really nice searing tool that I should be using more often, lol.
-I’ve been on the fence about a lot of my poly blouses that still work and make for great silhouettes in specific coords, so I might just have them for a few more seasons to decide if I will just end up fully purging them in the end. Every time I think about it, I end up deciding against it, so I might succumb to fully keeping them in the end. It’s hard to say… I also appreciate that they’re specific colors that otherwise don’t seem to exist or I’d have to make them myself, like purple, emerald green, and cobalt blue. Pardon the CC pics, I never bothered to take other pics yet:

My current Qutie Frash blouses (I have quite a few more, and they’ll all poly but I can still generally tolerate them? at least in the winter), and then Axes Femme blouses…
Style is an ongoing journey, and it’s been fun thus far!
